I said I’d give you a doodle, because it does mean a lot that you stop by during my streams~ Buuuut, I didn’t know what to doodle. So, I cheated and used my already drawn base and changed up the mane/tail, colors, and cutie mark. :P Because I am lazy~ And I dunno… <33 Thanks for being the ever-awesome you!
((Waaah! This is so pretty! Oh my gosh I am grinning from ear to ear, seriously. Thank you so, so much!))
"Also, some of them seem to be moving. That’s pretty creepy."
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 2800+ FOLLOWERS!!
(please fullview for the gigantic image)
This took super long to do but I love how it came out! I’m amazed at how far Desert Eagle’s blog has come. I never dreamed of getting this many followers but here I am, and I’m so glad that people like her so much!
So! Here’s the list of people in this image! *deep breath*
((Wow! This is so wonderful, and I’m so delighted Toola has a place in it. Thank you for being an inspiration.))
Finally finished all submissions from the 700+ followers post! First let me apologize for all the errors and simplifications, and particularly for going with the no-pupil eye style in cases where it ends up a bit creepy (sorry Jezendar!). Also, cutie marks were all omitted for simplicity. That said, thanks to all you followers and also the submitters for letting me attempt this!
(Disclaimer: I have not checked if all blogs below are SFW. Browse at your own risk.)
(Also, the links below are the name of the requesting blog, not necessarily the name of the character)

Thus endeth the Art Jail Arc.
((Last call for submissions! If you want to see a tiny watercolor of your character, submit in the next 12 hours or so! See the previous post for details.))
We interrupt the interminable wait for a conclusion to the art jail arc to bring you this announcement: Thank you all so much! So let’s celebrate!
Firstly, I plan to finally finish this arc this weekend! Then back to silly one-off posts.
Secondly, let me draw your attention to a wonderful place to commission beautiful art and help a great person, asktherain. Check this post by askthepsp for commission info!
Thirdly, I will foolishly do one of those milestone giveaway things! In watercolor! I’m a fool! Here’s the rules:
- Taking entries by submission only, submit either a picture reference of your character or a link to a picture ref, with colors. One character per entrant only: if there are more in the ref then I will choose one. Non-pony characters are welcome! (I’d like to keep things MLP-related, but I’d welcome a chance to try drawing dragons, griffons, etc.)
- I’m doing these in pencil and watercolor at very small scale (2.5x3.5 inches), so I have to simplify a lot. No cutie marks, and details will inevitably get fudged/left out. Toola in the pic above is an example of what I’m aiming for, at best.
- Don’t expect super creative poses (again, see above :P ).
- Submit by the end of Monday September 1. I haven’t decided how many I’ll do; I’ll have to see how long the process is. I apologize in advance if I don’t paint your character.
More overdue birthday art, this time for Pocket Sized and Toola Roola. Happy belated birthday!
Since I was so overdue on giftart for both of these two, I wanted to create a picture featuring both of them. After thinking for a bit, I rememberd that Ambrose had created this picture, inspired by his acquisition of this figure, and realized that Pocket was a perfect candidate for a bit of face painting. Hence the picture above.
I wasn’t sure what to do about hair strokes, as Ambrose just uses black lines instead of the colored lines used in the show. So I did a little research via Google, and discovered two things:
1: There apparently aren’t a lot of decent quality screenshots of G3 ponies online.
2: The official Toola has a differently colored line for each of her mane and tail colors. She also seems to use variant palettes throughout her existence, but this line color style still holds true throughout all the pics I found.
I didn’t really want to use six different line colors, due to the work need to extrapolate all of those from Ambrose’s Toola design. But I also didn’t want to just use a single color (black or otherwise) a la Rainbow Dash, because I didn’t believe it would fit with Toola’s color placement. But during my research I stumbled upon this picture by Fluffomaru, which provided me with a solution. Use two colors for the lines: one color is used for Toola’s mane, and the second for her tail. Getting these colors was as simple as taking the orange and dark purple colors in Ambrose’s design and editing their hue and lightness a bit. I also ended up lightening up his default red slightly, to better fit it into this setup.

((Wow, this was a delightful surprise—thank you Jezendar!! I love the expression (though Toola would be secretly into the face runes). ))
